What is GPA?

GPA is grade point average. GPA is how American undergraduate courses are graded. Here’s how GPA scores relate to British undergraduate degree classifications:

  • 3.8+ is equivalent to British first-class honours
  • 3.3–3.7 is equivalent to British upper second-class honours (2.1)
  • 2.8–3.2 is equivalent to British lower second-class honours (2.2)
  • 2.3–2.7 is equivalent to British third-class honours
